| Box Ladders |

| Q : How much work is it to run a box ladder? |
A : It depends on how much of a dictator you are or can be.
If you can force or strongly encourage your players to log on, update their scores themselves,
sign themselves up for every session and maintain their personal details then your work every
session is limited to creating new players, giving
them an initial ranking and a few minutes to calculate final standings, promotions/demotions and create
the new session's ladder. Club politics may also dictate that you spend more time doing "manual
adjustments". The system makes it really easy to make these kind of adjustments.
Excluding "political adjustments", it should take about 15 minutes to complete a session
if your ladder has between 100 and 200 players and about 5 minutes if you have less than 30 players.
You may spend a few more minutes printing the ladders or the final standings from
the previous session for your noticeboard, but this is optional. |
| Q : What is a session? |
| A : A Session is defined as one round robin series or the
period of time that a box ladder is active for. Often sessions are about one month, but they can be
longer (e.g. in summer) |

| Challenge ladders |

| Q : How much work is it to run a Challenge ladder? |
A : Challenge ladders are even easier to maintain. As GameMaster,
you need to add new players to the ladder and remove players that have moved on.
Removing players is very important to run a successful challenge ladder. Players that have left the club or
that do not respond to challenges are considered "deadwood" and they clutter up an otherwise active ladder.
Remove them! It is not that difficult for them to get back on the ladder. All they need to do is ask you. |
