Privacy Statement:

GigaSports.com has created this privacy statement (“Statement”) in order to demonstrate our commitment to customer privacy. Privacy on the web site (the “Site”) is of great importance to us. Because we gather important information from our clubs and their members, we have established this Statement as a means to communicate our information gathering and dissemination practices. We reserve the right to change this Statement and will provide notification of the change at least thirty (30) business days prior to the change taking effect. To be effective, the change will include directions on how users may respond to the change.

In this Statement there are three parties : Members (“you”), clubs (“Clubs”) and GigaSports (“us” or “we”). The generic term “third parties” refers to any party other than these three. GigaSports and clubs share all Member information on the Site, however ownership vests in us. Other member information kept by the club is subject to the club’s privacy policy.

Except as provided for in this statement Member data (Initial, Basic and Enhanced) will not be distributed or shared with third parties. We will not review, share, distribute, print, or reference any Data except as may be required by law. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your user name and password.

Initial information we collect:

When Clubs sign up with us, we ask for initial data (“Initial Data”) and if possible, basic data (“Basic Data”) about their Members. Initial Data comprises a name and contact telephone number(s), while Basic Data includes a member’s e-mail address, birthday and postal code. Initial Data is used to create a user account and password. Basic Data is used to provide you with a secure method of accessing your user names and passwords in the event that you forget this essential login information.

Birthday:

Your birthday may also be used in ladder/league formats that are age-centric e.g. Junior ladders and Veteran or Masters Leagues. You must sign up for such ladders/leagues – you are are not automatically added to them. Even if you sign up for an age-centric ladder, your birthday itself is not disclosed to other Members or to third parties, only the age category that you play in is disclosed.

Postal Code:

Your zip/postal code may also be used to determine residence by regional or national sporting associations working with GigaRankings.

Updating and deleting data:

When you log in, you may be asked to update your data. This is required in order to proceed into the Site. You cannot opt out of providing this information but can update or remove your personal information at any time by logging into the Site and editing your personal information within My Profile. In the My Profile section, you may optionally further enhance your data (Enhanced Data). An example of this is the note that you can add to show other players when you prefer to play sports matches or alternatively when you are not available. You can view your updated profile to confirm your edits have been made.

Members statements:

We may also be provided with data from your club regarding your account at the club. This data is used solely to produce online statements and transactions for you. We do not collect credit card data related to your account.

Bookings:

We collect data regarding bookings that you make. This information is available to all Members of the Club when they view the booking sheets online. We also analyze and aggregate such booking data for the Club. Once a booking record passes into history, it cannot be removed by the Member. Booking data may be kept indefinitely for statistical purposes.

Match results:

We collect data regarding the results of sports matches that are played by members. A subset of matches can be deleted by you. Match data is kept indefinitely. Irrespective of who input the match result, this data is jointly owned by you, your opponent and the Club or association under whose auspices the match was played. In order to delete or edit a match the permission of all three is required. Once you have made bookings or have matches recorded against you, these facts are recorded and your name can no longer be deleted from the Site, however your personal data such as e-mail address, telephone numbers, birthday, postal code can continue to be edited and deleted through the My Profile screen.

Except as we explicitly state at the time we request information, we do not disclose to or share with any third-party the information you have provided.

E-mail:

We have developed a proprietary e-mail system. The objective of the system is to keep your e-mail addresses private, even from other members, and to guarantee delivery. When you e-mail another member through the Site, your e-mail address is e-mailed to the recipient, enabling the recipient to communicate directly with you outside of the system. You may remove your e-mail address in the My Profile screen at any time. A copy of every e-mail sent through the system is stored in a mailbox named “Mailroom”.

We regularly scan the e-mail in the Mailroom for messages which indicate that e-mails were undelivered. Guaranteed delivery of e-mails is important to both us and to Members, therefore when it seems that an e-mail address is not being attended to, we may delete the e-mail address from the system. If this happens to you, you will be prompted for a new e-mail address when you next log in. We also review the Mailroom when there is a question regarding delivery or in the event of a complaint from a Member. As a result, Members should consider that any e-mail sent through the Site is not private.

Internet addresses:

We may also collect your internet (IP) address. This information is logged to help diagnose technical problems, and to administer our Site in order to constantly improve the quality of the Service. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from our visitors and customers.

Cookies:

When you interact with the Site we strive to make that experience easy and meaningful. When you come to the Site, our Web server sends a cookie to your computer. Cookies are files that browsers place on a computer’s hard drive and are used to tell us whether customers and visitors have visited the Site previously.

The cookie can identify you personally and therefore allow you to automatically log on to the site without having to input your user name and password. Automatic logon will occur with the last cookie written to the computer. If you do not want the cookie written to the computer, you must check the “Increased security” checkbox before logging on. You can delete the cookie through your browser settings.

Cookies come in two flavours: session and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you’ve closed your browser or turned off your computer.

We use session cookies to allow the system to uniquely identify you while you are logged in. This information allows us to process your online transactions and requests. Session cookies help us make sure you are who you say you are after you’ve logged in and are required in order to use the application. We use persistent cookies to identify the fact that you are a Member.
